Hey fellow Canadian! How awesome, I didn't imagine you'd be Canadian, cool surprise.
I wondered if you had one of these accounts! And here you are!
I stumbled upon your youtube videos a couple of months ago. I think I've watched almost every one of them since then.
I bought RPGMaker MV a while back last year and was watching your videos to get a better idea of how it worked, I hadn't used RPGMaker since I was like 14-15, like 15 years ago. I think it was like RPGMaker 2k or something.
Your videos are great! Very informative, and not just the stuff to do with RPGMaker, but story writing and other important aspects of game design as well. I however decided to ditch the RPGMaker as there was a lot I wanted to do that it doesn't provide without a lot of hassle and using Java. So opted for SFML and C++. Using a program called SPINE 2D for animation. Finally going to start actually working on it now that I've learned enough to move forward.
It looks like you've got a whole lot of fans over there on Youtube that miss you
judging by the comments. I realized after a bit there were no new videos and got to reading the comments to see where you'd gone. Guess they say you are working on the remake of your game?
How is that going, would love to hear your progress.
I also saw that first Animation you made. I think it's great! A lot of people don't realize the amount of work it takes to make even a short animation like that. That's why the big studios have 100's working for them. And how hard it is to keep uniformity without lots of hours and many people, key frame artists, in-betweeners, their supervisors etc. A good example is this little article.
washiblog.files.wordpress.com/…Your trailer has all the feeling of an Anime production trailer. And for just one person I think it's awesome and you will go far if you keep with it. There are even some new Anime studios popping up in Canada I believe. I think there is one in Vancouver BC actually. Can't remember its name right now.
Just in the last couple of years I've started trying to animate traditionally, when I have the time.
Uh, this message is probably getting too long for here though.
If you ever want to chat drop me a line! Just send a note on here or something if you want and have time. There is tonnes of stuff I'd love to talk to you about, you being a fellow Canadian, artist, game designer and maker and all! Maybe even work together in the future, who knows!
Take care! Hope to hear from you!
